Scumbag Millionaire
Is professional football a business or is it personal? It seems that there is a blurred line here somewhere. I personally feel that the question is conditional. You see when a player wants a better contract they can hold out and claim; that is the business of football. But when an older player or an injured player gets cut or traded they claim that betrayal is afoot. The player will say that they are hurt and it takes a personal toll on them. However it always seems to be up to the player. Believe me i am going somewhere with this.
Recently in Tampa Jon Gruden was fired. Now Ol' "Chucky has never been known as a players coach. But now it seems that every low class, over paid crybaby wants to air their grievances about him. First Jeff Garcia, who has complained more in the last few years than my pregnant girlfriend, says that he felt Gruden didn't handle the players well. And just this week Simeon Rice, a player who showed a lot of promise prior to getting injured, was on a radio station calling Jon a "scumbag". He says that after his performance went down after the injury and the team cut him he felt betrayed. He even went as far as to say that Jon Gruden was "mean" and "disloyal". Really? I mean really! If you were holding out for a contract Simeon could we bash you. I mean how many millions do you need, but hey it's a business.
Welcome to the real world there guys. Bosses are mean and you can get laid off if your performance slips. Just because you play a kids game and you are over grown children doesn't mean that you can do whatever you want. If I just don't show up to my job I get FIRED, not a bigger contract. Besides the players are the one's yelling about how it is a business and you have to " go where the money at". I would like you all to shut up and play or shut up and "get that money". But either way just shut up. With the economy the way it is and a lot of good people losing their jobs I don't want you to see these guys crying about millions or bitching about their bosses. If it is a business work hard and earn your paycheck, if it is a game play hard and we will adore you for it. Live like no one is watching and try hard not to be a complete moron, thanks Simeon for the material!
