It's over, It's finally over!

Well the good news is that the long, boring, annoying baseball season is over. The bad news is the New York Yankees won the World Series. But this will not be a post blasting the big market Yankees for buying the World Series, or my woeful musings how that is unfair. No this will be a proverbial tip of the hat for the World Champions of baseball, but it will be short because I have very few good things to say about the Yankees.

The series ended in game six. But I really thought it would be over earlier than that. Ryan Howard wasn't hitting, Cliff Lee was the only quality pitcher, and the Phillies just didn't look like they wanted to win. The Yankees on the other hand wanted this bad. You could see it in the face of A-Rod, or the effort that Texiera was putting forth. The Yankees almost needed to win, to live up to hype. People have been accusing Joe Girardi of over managing, of being to cautious. But what do we accuse him of when he wins the World Series. The Yankees won this World Series with guts and patience, the way any small market team would've done. The big money guys, like Sabathia and A-Rod were clutch, but Burnett was shaky. But none of them won the MVP. No, Hideki Matsui, the designated hitter, won the MVP. The Yankees won the series. See that is good stuff.

I hate the Yankees. With every inch of my being I loathe them. But they are the world champions, and have made a wish come true. They ended the baseball season. Live like no one is watching, and avoid all Yankee fans.
