Merry Christmas!

Well the presents are unwrapped, Santa has gone home, and there is an NFL game on the tube. I am really excited that I have moved up to .500 in the bowl picks. It looks like things are turning around for me. Nevada got blown out by SMU last night. The Wolfpack offense was completely ineffective without it's full arsenal of weapons. We have a full array of Saturday bowl games so we need to jump right in.

Little Caesars Bowl; Ohio v. Marshall: Marshall is probably the worst team in a bowl. The Herd have a great running game behind a good running back, Darius Marshall. The passing game started coming around late in the season for Marshall, but they still rely heavily on the running game. Ohio has a pretty good defense, in fact they lead Div I in turnovers. The Bobcats do have problems stopping the run however, which gives a sliver of hope to Marshall. I just think that the overall speed of Ohio will be too much. John is the only one that agrees with me. Jess, Lys, and Jason are taking Marshall.

Meineke Car Care Bowl; Pitt v. UNC: This will be the best game of the day. North Carolina has the sixth ranked total defense in the nation. The Tarheels are ninth against the run and 15th against the pass. They will need every bit of that defense to stop Panthers' quarterback Bill Stull, and running back Dion Lewis. Lewis is very possibly the best running back in the country. North Carolina has a pretty good offense. Quarterback T.J. Yates is improving every game. He will have to be running for his life, Pitt's defense has the most sacks in Div-I. I am taking Pitt, everyone is split on this one. Lys and John are taking Pitt, Jess and Jason are taking UNC.

Emerald Bowl; USC v. Boston College: Wow do we really have to pick this game. Both teams have inexperienced quarterbacks. Under all the rebuilding, USC is still USC. Everyone of us agree on this one.

Thanks for all of the positive feedback I have been getting. Keep your eyes peeled for my New Year's Revolution. Live like no one is watching and enjoy your long weekend.
