Little Big Game

A few regulars and I were at the bar today, discussing this evenings match up between the Cardinals of Ball State and the Bulls of Buffalo. An old man at the corner, yes you Jerry you Okie bastard, yelled through his Cutty Sark, "Who cares about those two bullshit teams."  I will tell you who really cares about those two teams.  Real college football fans that understand what a great game this is.  Neither of these teams as far as i know have ever won the MAC.  It has been almost a thousand years since Ball State has went undefeated.  

The Bulls of Buffalo University have brought football back to life in upstate New York.  They are well coached and full of spirit.  They don't play a fun to watch high powered offensive game.  Instead they grind you down and don't make mistakes.  It will be fun to watch how they hold up against Ball State.

Ball State is another well coached team.  They are one of the fewest penalized teams in the NCAA.  They however have an explosive offense.  Nate Davis might be one of  the top 10 qb's in college football.  Miquail Lewis is an awesome little running back that catches the ball well out of the backfield.  Ball State is also an inspired team playing without their best offensive weapon Dante Love, who broke his back early in the season.  I am going to love watching them compete for a big prize.

The confidence of the Ball State team in outstanding.  they turned down a chance to play Boise State in their stadium for the Humanitarian Bowl.  Not because they are scared the Boise team but because they think they can get a better bowl.  Good for them all or nothing.  This game means a lot to both of these programs, and a lot to big time college football fans.  Watch it if you have the time it should be a good one.
