The Humanitarian Bowl

Good morning all.  We have a slate of great games today.   Every game on the schedule has the opportunity to be great.  I have been on a roll lately with my picks, but today is one of those days where each game could go either way.  So I am going to pick and pray.

The Humanitarian bowl is a good match-up of teams.  The Maryland Terrapins are schizophrenic.  They only show up in big games.  Quarterback Chris Turner is spectacular on the big stage and no so great in smaller venues.  The Terrapin defense is ultra suspect and hasn't played up to potential.  They will have their work cut out for them trying to stop the pistol offense of Nevada which boasts the second best rushing attack in the nation.  Nevada is great at stopping the run.  But that is about all their good at stopping.  Their defense gives up a ton of pass yards.  Which gives the most hope to Maryland.  The Terrapins will have a wide receiver David Heyward-Bey back as well as tight end Dan Grankowski.  With Turner delivering the ball the Terrapins can eat the secondary of Nevada up.  On the Wolfpack side quarterback Colin Kaepernick is scary.  He threw for 2,479 and rushed 1,115 he had 35 touchdowns.  I know what your thinking, that's like Tim Tebow last year, your right but he plays for Nevada so you have never heard of them.   Running Back Vai Taua ran from 1,420 and 14 touchdowns.  I think Nevada will play well and I like their offense a lot.  But I am picking the Terrapins because no WAC team has won on the blue turf in 100 years or something.   Elysa Picked the Terrapins and now for John's analysis.

Nevada has the second best running game in the Nation.  Maryland has multiple Personality Disorder.  If the Maryland that beat Cal and Wake Forest shows up it should be a good game to watch.  If the Maryland that lost to Middle Tennessee state shows my Terps might get stomped into the the mud.  Go TERPS!  I'm calling this one for the Terrapins.
